We dropped into SOHO bakery, the new location at Sheppard and Kennedy (opened a week ago). We were not disappointed. There was limited selection as the items were fresh from the oven, it was relatively early at 1000 hrs. Great value for portion and product. The service was friendly and courteous. This location is clean and has a few tables available to enjoy on site. I only wished for the baked goods to be placed in a box versus little bags. I would definitely recommend this place for fresh Asian baked goods at a great price point.

I have been here several times. It is located one block east of Woodbine and 16th Avenue on the southwest corner, in a small plaza. The parking there is limited especially during lunch time.
Atmosphere 3.5/5
Pretty average for a Chinese bakery maybe slightly modern than the Lucullus.
Service 3/5
They are alright. Sometimes it is good but sometimes it is bad depending on who is there.
Food 3.5/5
It is pretty good depending on what you get. I like their egg tarts. Their curry beef bun is good. I do fine their buns a bit more fluffy or airy.
Overall they are pretty good especially for the area price wise it is slightly more expensive than other places. Definitely will come back again. -

This bakery was on my radar for quite some time. It was a bit of a trek, but I found a plaza nearby, so I managed to check out the surrounding area as well. There is a small eating area, and a good selection of buns, tarts, breads and cakes. I found the egg tarts, mango swiss roll and black sesame mochi were okay. The coconut tart was dry and crumbly; however, the coconut bun had a generous filling inside and was good. The staff could have been more personable; overall, I just didn't get a good vibe. While it's a nice little bakery in a residential area, I wish I had loved it more. Perhaps it was just an off day ... My receipt wasn't itemized - selections ranged from $1.20 - $1.80 each.

Can't speak much about their buns, but my family loves their mixed fruit cakes. However, I found their size to be quite disappointing now. It has significantly shrunk and I'm not exaggerating on this. Please see pic below. The fortunate part is that the taste is still the same but with less fruits?
I called in to order the cake and specifically asked the person on the phone what is their smallest size. They said 7inches which equal to 1 pound, $30. Totally fine and delighted until I opened the box. The cake is only 5inches!!!!! Don't tell me it's a 7inch/1lb cake when it's not. price here is not the issue, I felt like I was lied to. Please make sure you advertise the right measurements because we ended up not having enough cake for our party. -

I came back again because I was craving for the milk tea. Not all the buns were out yet as they officially open at 9am., but I went in anyway as the doors were open. I bought the original pineapple bun. It was sooooo good as it was still warm. The bun was soft inside and the crust was a little crunch on the outside. I really enjoyed it!! I had asked for little sugar in my milk tea and it was perfect this time. Last time I had asked for little sugar but it was still on the sweet side . Perfect with my pineapple
Bun before work!
